Accounts
Your books, in one place.
Quotes, invoices, expenses, reimbursements and reporting for UK limited companies and sole traders — no more spreadsheets and shared folders.

Who we built this for
UK consultancies, studios, and small agencies
We built Dot + Dash Accounts to get our own books out of spreadsheets, Drive folders, and emailed receipts — then opened it for firms like ours.
Consultancies
Project work, milestones, and founder expenses without five spreadsheets.
Studios & agencies
Quotes that become orders and invoices — same line items, no retyping.
Ltd & sole traders
Same day-to-day books. Limited companies also get shareholders and dividends.
The usual mess
If your books live in three tools and an email thread, you already know the cost — missed invoices, lost receipts, and a stressful hand-off at year-end.
Spreadsheets everywhere
Quotes in one sheet, invoices in another, and nobody sure which number is current.
Shared folders of PDFs
Receipts and bank CSVs scattered across Drive — hard for you, harder for your accountant.
Receipts in inboxes
Founders email photos of receipts. They vanish until year-end panic.
Dot + Dash Accounts puts quotes, invoices, expenses, bank matching, and an accountant pack in one place.
Product tour
See the books in motion
A short look at the dashboard, quote-to-invoice path, and expense capture — recorded from the live product with demo data.
What you get
Built around how service firms actually get paid and spend — not a generic ledger dumped into a browser.
Sales
Quote becomes an order — no retyping
When a client says yes, the quote turns into an order with the same line items and numbers. Raise invoices against milestones without starting from a blank sheet.

Invoicing
Branded invoice PDFs, books stay in sync
Turn the order into a branded invoice. Record payments and watch receivables and the dashboard update — without a separate spreadsheet for “what’s outstanding”.

Expenses
Email a receipt, batch reimbursements
Founders send receipts to a dedicated address. They land as pending expenses for review. Mark what the company owes, batch a reimbursement run, and settle it cleanly.

Banking
Import a bank CSV and match payments
Export a CSV from your bank, import it, and match incoming payments to invoices. Suggested matches mean less manual reconciliation — no live Open Banking required.

Year-end
One-click accountant pack
Hand your accountant CSVs, invoice PDFs, receipts, and bank data in one export. Invite them read-only so they can check figures without editing your books.

How it works
Fifteen minutes a week beats a month of catch-up before the accountant calls.
- 01
Set up your company
Trading name, logo, bank details, and invoice numbering. Invite your co-founder and accountant.
- 02
Run a weekly rhythm
Send quotes and invoices, log expenses, import the bank CSV, and clear what needs attention.
- 03
Hand year-end over
Export the accountant pack. They stay read-only; you keep day-to-day control.
What makes it different
Spreadsheet replacement for small UK service firms — not a claim to replace your accountant or full year-end filing software.
- Quote → order → invoice with milestones — built for project work, not just one-off invoices
- Founder receipt email + reimbursement runs — the consultancy expense pain, solved
- Accountant as a first-class role — multi-company read-only and a one-click pack
- Honest scope: GBP, bank CSV matching, VAT export (not HMRC filing), no live bank feeds
Who it's for
A fit if you…
- Founders of UK consultancies, studios, and small agencies
- Limited companies and sole traders who want day-to-day books in one place
- Teams that still hand year-end to an accountant
Not a fit if you…
- Businesses that need live Open Banking feeds
- Teams filing VAT / MTD inside the app today
- Anyone looking for full year-end filing and tax submission software
Questions
Is this full accounting software?
It replaces the spreadsheets and folders you use day to day — quotes, invoices, expenses, bank CSV matching, and reports. Your accountant still files returns and handles Companies House.
Do you support VAT or Making Tax Digital?
If you are VAT-registered you can set rates and export a period VAT CSV for your accountant. We do not submit to HMRC or claim Making Tax Digital filing.
Is there a live bank feed?
No. Export a CSV from your bank (Starling, Monzo, and others), import it, and match payments to invoices.
Can my accountant use it?
Yes. Invite them read-only. They can export an accountant pack with CSVs, invoice PDFs, receipts, and bank data.
Limited company or sole trader?
Both. Day-to-day books are the same. Limited companies also get shareholders and dividends. See our UK Financial Guides for obligations by structure.
What currency do you support?
GBP only. Foreign receipts can be logged for information, but the books stay in pounds.
